I’m Gillian Smith, founder and owner of Johannesburg based professional M.U.A company. Makeup By Gill. I’ve always had a passion for creating the perfect look for any occasion and am thrilled to bring my client’s vision to reality through art.

I am an artist & your face is my canvas.

I developed and perfected my skills and techniques at the prestigious Kohl Academy in South Africa, qualifying with a level three international diploma in Professional and Airbrush makeup. As well as being accredited with a Diploma in Beauty from Shaw Academy, I also received a VTCT certificate for health & safety, 

I specialize in various make-up artistry needs, including:

·         special effects

·         theatrical, and

·         any special occasions

For as long as I can remember, I have loved all things fashion & beauty. It started as a little girl, watching my mother do her face in the mirror every morning. To me, she was the epitome of fashion & I wanted to be just like her. I was completely convinced that Makeup is the magic that can transform you instantly. Now that I’m older, I know that it was indeed not magic, but the power of makeup.
